- Imperative sentence
An imperative sentence is used to give a command or make a request. An imperative sentence also ends with a period. For example, “Open the door”.
- Interrogative Sentences
Interrogative sentences are used to ask a question, they end with a question mark. For example, did you complete the assignment?
- Exclamatory Sentences
These sentences are used to express emotions such as joy, sadness and delight. This sentence ends up with an exclamation mark. For example, Wao! It’s a beautiful car.
Types of declarative sentences
The declarative sentence has two types, simple and compound. A declarative sentence is printed in the present tense. It consists of a subject and a prediction. Here are some examples of a simple declarative sentence.
